Playing with my new camera and CTPK updates

I'm having an absolute BLAST with my new camera! It is a Nikon D7100 - my friend found a manufacturer refurbished one at an insanely low price, and I couldn't say no. Can't believe how incredibly easy it is to take beautiful pictures. I'm still learning how to use it (the manual I bought is huge).

I took some badly needed update photos of my CTPKs plus a few of my pet bettas. I need to figure out who to spawn ASAP. What a terrible decision to make!
Picture
Potential pair. This girl is a spitfire!

Picture
I love this male! Very good caudal spread and webbing reduction in the caudal, although I would like to see more in the anal. A few uneven rays, but I love his butterfly pattern :)
Picture
Potential breeder. He has the best webbing reduction, even though his anal is longer than I would like, and he has a couple of bent rays. His guy is also the most active!
Picture
So symmetrical! He could almost pass for a symmetrical shortfin HM!
Picture
Super broad dorsal on this one! Very pleasing webbing reduction and nice straight, thick rays with only primary branching. Again though, no ventrals haha
Unfortunately out of this spawn, I only got tons of males! No females :( I do have their mother, and she is still small enough (and vital enough) to probably spawn with one of her sons. On the other hand, it might be time to combine the form and color CTPKs. I know I will lose primary branching at least in the first couple generations, but I have some females with great color (see below).
Picture
Another boy I really like. Not as much webbing reduction as the others. This guy was SO hard to photograph! What a rocket!

I love her form and color! (minus the red wash in the anal). Even copper tone, nice symmetrical fins and webbing reduction. And she has the best attitude!
Picture
I love love her color, but her finnage is not as good as her sister. It's upsetting because she is the last CTPK that is anything but copper! From what I understand, copper x copper yields copper since it is the most recessive out of the metallic iridescents...
Very few survived from this lot, but I did get two very nice females that I am thinking of crossing with one of the males above (to combine the two lines). I dislike the secondary branching and will probably lose it in the first or second generations after the cross, but I think it is time. Their color is just fantastic!
Pet Bettas
Breeders of bettas technically shouldn't have pets. However, I just can't help it sometimes. I have several bettas that I keep only for pleasure.
Picture
One of my favorite boys bred by June :) Just look at those fins!

My giants. These guys are HUGE. Also pretty difficult to photograph because the (ironically) move slowly and tend to stay near the surface. It literally feels like I am catching a small whale when I net them :)
