Alright, these aren't bettas, but it seems as if I have a propensity to like the aggressive and unusually beautiful.

I had a really wonderful time apprentice judging down at the Golden State Bettas show! Check out the full show report in the Show Reports section!
Gastone was kind enough to write a complete background on the lovely blue metallic CTPK female I picked up at KFF! Roberto was super nice to ask Gastone to write it up and Matteo translated it into english! The full story can be found on the Forum deli'Assosciazione Italiana Betta:
http://www.aibetta.it/forum/content.php?r=179-La-mia-linea-di-Crown-Tail-Plakat-(My-CTPK-line) I am happy to report that I have two new spawns! One is the start of the metallic CTPKs (Spawn CTPK 031814) and the other is the F3 of my red and yellow traditional PKs (Spawn RY Trad 031814). After the fry get a little larger (2-3 weeks), I will combine the two spawns in a 10 gallon. Very exciting!
I'm really excited to work with these fish!! Some of these are also Larissa's (near the end). A pair of CTPKs are already in the spawn tank...hopefully they spawn soon :) I also built a simple light box which really helped improve the quality of my photos (especially with the blacks). CTPKs from Jamie King (Czech) Jamie is a really wonderful breeder and betta friend. I was very glad to meet him and to also have some wonderful conversations with him! I added a new show report over in the "Show Reports" Section. Check it out, check it out!
I had a real blast going to Friedrichshaffen, Germany this past weekend to apprentice judge at the Kampffishfruende Area 2 IBC Convention! I met so many wonderful betta people in Europe, and it is my new personal goal to breed bettas that would be competitive in Europe so that I can take fish over there (as well as bring many back!) I took lots of pictures and will be adding them in a later post. For now I just wanted to put up a short video that I made. |
