I transferred my lovely (and dependable!) pair of burdigala into their new home, and of course they started cuddling right away. I got a spawn later that day and collected them for artificial hatching. I love these guys! I also just put together a couple of new spawns (CTPKs and red traditional PKs) so fingers crossed!

Oh! lol, I carefully scoop up the eggs and nest and then transfer them to an entirely different container. There is an earlier blog post with a picture of the artificial hatching set-up somewhere. It is basically a clear square cup floating on its side with methylene blue added to some tank water in it. The water depth is about an inch at its deepest point. I like the larger volume and being able to see the eggs through the clear sides. Leave a Reply. |
